In February 2016, Bob Marley would have celebrated his 71st birthday; instead his family launched Marley Natural, in his honor + memory. The debut of the line was coupled with a launch party in California hosted by Marley’s son – Stephen “Ragga” Marley and a slew of the famed icon’s children + grandchildren. The new company is designed to create and market marijuana products and accessories. It features four categories of cannabis flower + oil – each of different strains; hand-blown, heat-resistant glass pipes; and a line of hemp-seed body care products.

“Herb” is an integral part of the Rastafarian culture because of its spiritual + healing properties. The brand’s categories of cannabis flower include Marley Green, Marley Gold, Marley Red, + Marley Black. The former category features hybrid strains with balanced levels of THC and is recommended for cannabis newbies, while the latter features indica strains more suitable for connoisseurs.

The products bear the labels “Marley Natural promotes a worldwide vision for positive change” and “For medical use only.” It is currently only available in Los Angeles via three dispensaries, but will expand to other areas across the West Coast throughout 2016. The brand hopes to be distributed to other states across the United States and internationally, as the legalization of marijuana spreads in the coming years.
